明倫茶会「土味の三角測量　序章、1-1」English Below

薪窯の会が席主を務めた茶会と展示を、無事に終えることができました！

お越しくださった皆様、京都芸術センターの皆さま、お支えいただいた全ての皆様に、心より感謝いたします。

5月23日の茶会では、ベナン・フランスの「土味」あるやきものと、メンバーが日本で焼いた茶碗や茶道具を取り合わせました。「土味」という美意識から、やきもの、地域のイメージ、そして文化そのものを新しい目で見つめ直す——

そんなひとときをと願って開いた会でしたが、積極的なお客様でにぎわい、私たち自身も多くの気づきをいただける、実りのある時間になりました。

抹茶と和紅茶の二服を、それぞれに合わせたお菓子とともにお出ししました。器はあえてどこのどんなものかを伏せ、想像を働かせつつ味わっていただき、最後に「答え合わせ」の時間を設けました。予想が当たった、意外だった、と思い思いの反応が飛び交い、私たちも嬉しく拝見していました。

メンバーからの説明だけでなく、お客様からの質問や、お客様同士の会話もあちこちで生まれました。終わったあとも和室に残って器を眺める方が続き、会話が尽きません。受付を兼ねた展示にも、茶会終わりに背景へ関心を寄せた方々が次々と足をお運びくださいました。

24日から30日には、茶会で使ったやきものを展示室へと移し、黒板前とフランス・ベナンそれぞれの資料コーナーの一部に並べました。こちらの展示にも多くのお客様にお越しいただきました。

We're glad to have wrapped up our tea gathering and exhibition "Triangulation of Tsuchi-aji (Earth Flavor): Introduction, 1-1" at Kyoto Art Center.

Makigamanokai served as host. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who came and supported us💫

At the gathering on May 23rd, we paired ceramics embodying the tsuchi-aji (earth flavor) aesthetic from Benin and France with pieces our members made in response to them. Through this sense of tsuchi-aji, we hoped to look at ceramics, our perception of regions, and culture itself, with fresh eyes — and it came alive with engaged guests, making it a wonderful time full of discoveries for us too.

We served matcha and Japanese black tea with sweets chosen to match, keeping the vessels' origins hidden so you could savor them while imagining, then revealing the "answers" at the end. It was a joy alto hear your reactions - some delighted to be right, others pleasantly surprised.

Beyond our explanations, questions and conversations sprang up everywhere, and many lingered afterward to admire the pieces. Visitors curious about the background also made their way to the exhibition one after another.

From the 24th to 30th, the ceramics moved into the exhibition room by the blackboard and the France/Benin reference corners, where many came to see them too🔥
